How To Set Up An Excel Spreadsheet If the worksheet has many columns, you can use the Adjust Print Area options to reduce the size of the worksheet in a way that best fits the printed page.
Click the Page Layout tab on the ribbon.
In the Adjust Print Box group, in the Width box, select 1 page, and in the Height box, select Automatic. Columns appear on a page, but they can be the same that span more than one page.
Scale to fit
To print the worksheet on a single page, in the Height box, select 1 page. However, if you do this, hard copy can be difficult to read, since Excel reduces the data to fit the page. To see how much scaling is applied, look at the Scale box number. If it is a low number, you may need to make other settings before printing. For example, you may need to change the vertical orientation of the horizontal or choose a larger paper size. For more information, see the following section to understand some things about scaling a spreadsheet for a printed page.
To print the worksheet, press CTRL + P to open the Print dialog box, and then click OK.
What you should know about scaling a spreadsheet
It is important to remember some things to get an optimal experience for scaling spreadsheets.
If your spreadsheet has a large number of columns, you may need to change the orientation of the vertical page to a horizontal one. To do this, go to Page Layout> Page Setup> Orientation and click on Horizontal.
Consider using a larger paper size to accommodate a large number of printed columns. To change the default paper size, go to Page Layout> Page Setup> Size and choose the size you want.
How To Set Up An Excel Spreadsheet
Use the Print Area command (Page Setup group) to exclude columns or rows that do not need to be printed. For example, if you want to print the columns from A to F, but not the columns from G to Z, set the print area so that it includes only columns A through F.
You can reduce or enlarge a spreadsheet for a better fit on printed pages. To do this, under Page Setup, click the Dialog Chooser. Then, in Scale, click Adjust One, and then type the percentage of the normal size you want to use.
NOTE: For a spreadsheet for adjustment on printed pages, enter a percentage less than 100%. To reduce a spreadsheet for adjustment on printed pages, enter a percentage greater than 100%.
The Page Layout view does not support the Tangle Panels command. If you do not want to move the rows or columns of the worksheet, you can skip the Page Layout view and instead use the Fit options on the Page tab of the Page Setup dialog box. To do this, go to the Page Layout tab and in the Page Setup group click on the Image Button dialog box selector in the lower right corner. You can also press ALT + P, S, P.
To print a worksheet on a specific number of pages, under Page Setup, click the Dialog Selector. Then, in Scale, in both of the Fit to boxes, type the number of pages (width and height) in which you want to print the worksheet data.
Excel goes through the manual page breaks when the Fit To option is used.
Excel does not fit the data to fill the pages.
To remove a scale option, go to File> Print> Settings> No Scale.
